V-Groove Wheels
|
 |
Features:
- For track or floor operation on
inverted angle iron track in
production lines. Also used with
hand or conveyor trucks. Wheels
are cast with reinforced section
at maximum stress points.
V-Groove surface and face are
machine finished. These wheels
handle loads from 800 to 8,000
lbs. per wheel. Designed for
floor operation, or for track
mounted flush or on top of
floors. Gives greater
flexibility and better use of
available floor space. Curves
and switches may be used in
track operation. Wheels are cast
with reinforced section at
maximum stress points. Type of
track layout and casters are
dependent upon floor conditions,
area, distance and load. Consult
your local Colson representative
for advice on the proper caster
for the most economic and
efficient handling of your
particular application.
- Temperature range: -45°F to
+180°F. If metal washers
specified: -45°F to +500°F
(Roller bearing only).
- Finish: Green alkyd enamel.

FEATURES:
V-groove caster
swivel sections are hot forged from C-1045
steel. The wheels are highly adaptable and
can operate on angle iron track or on normal
floor surfaces. A relief groove at the base
of the V equalizes the load to each face
of the angle track. In
addition, all wheel faces and V grooves
are machined concentric to the bore for
proper tracking. The wheel bearings are
either straight roller bearings or precision
tapered roller bearings.
APPLICATIONS:
V-groove wheels are used for exceptionally
heavy loads where precise alignment or
indexing of equipment is necessary. These
casters are capable of guiding industrial
ovens, paint booths and other similar
equipment. |

Drop Forged Steel
V-Groove Wheels
Wheel face
and V-groove are machined from drop forged
steel. A relief groove at the base of the
V tends to equalize the load to each face
of the angle track when in operation. Wheel
face and bore are machined for concentricity
to proper
tracking. These wheels can be used not only
on a track but flat surfaces as well. VH
wheels feature a larger bore for greater
capacity. Please note: Track alignment is
critical when utilizing v-groove wheels. |

Polyurethane
These solid polyurethane wheels are designed
as track wheels for applications where
factors other than capacity dominate. For
example, quietness, corrosion resistance and
non-sparking could be factors. Available
with either plastic or roller bearings,
wheels are βliquid castβ and have all
the other quality features normally found in
solid polyurethane wheels. All are equipped
with a 7/8β wide x 7/16β V-groove.
Polyurethane Hardness
4 x 2 is available in 95A standard hardness
and a 70D extra hard. All other sizes are
available in 75D extra hard only. |
